KILLARNEY, IRELAND

kenmare place urban precinct

International Work  |  2021-2022

This urban design project based in Killarney, Ireland required a pedestrian precinct where shops had a public front and vehicular dominance was addressed. Creating a curvilinear design strecthing into the road allowed for a linear passage for the pedestrians with additional space for seating and a public ‘square’.

The curvilinear shape of the design slowed traffic down as well as minimize the surface area of the tarmac. The proposed promenade created an urban link between the church square and the route towards Killarney Central.
